In a low-scoring contest on Sunday, the Broncos managed to secure a close win over the struggling New York Jets. Quarterback Bo Nix connected on a first-quarter scoring strike and kicker Wil Lutz kicked the game-winning decisive three-pointer to seal the ugly win.

Defensive Display Wins Contest

Even with registering nine sacks versus Jets quarterback Justin Fields, the Broncos were behind 11-10 following giving up a two-point play in the third quarter. Interestingly, the Jets managed just 82 total net yards throughout the entire game.

Nix, who went 19 of 30 passes for 174 yards, engineered a decisive 12-play, 65-yard drive that ended with Lutz's short field goal with approximately five minutes remaining.

Record Difficulties for Jets Attack

In spite of their dismal offensive display, the Jets still had possession with a opportunity to score a potential winning score. But Fields was sacked on fourth-and-eight from the Denver 44 after coach Aaron Glenn chose to attempt the conversion instead of calling on kicker Nick Folk for a long field-goal attempt.

Fields struggled throughout, completing just 9 of 17 passes for 45 yards. The Jets ended up with minus-10 net yards passing, the lowest in any game since 1998.

"Our passing game was completely absent," the coach stated after the contest.
